Stay Steady, Stay Sipping - Shots to Brew Consistency
Let’s face it—social media can feel like a grind. You start strong, posting regularly, but before long, life and business pull you in different directions. Suddenly, you're scrambling to keep up, or worse, you disappear from your audience's feed altogether. This is where consistency saves the day.
Think of consistency like brewing your favorite coffee every morning. It’s the steady ritual that builds trust and anticipation. Your audience starts to expect and look forward to your presence—and when you show up consistently, they’ll keep showing up too.
Why Consistency Matters
It Builds Trust
Your audience needs to know you’ll be there. Consistent posting shows that you're reliable and serious about what you do. People trust those who show up regularly, just like a dependable coffee shop that always serves their favorite brew.It Strengthens Brand Recognition
Posting consistently with your unique voice, style, and message helps your audience recognize and remember you. Over time, your content becomes part of their routine—your brand is the aroma in their morning feed.It Boosts Engagement and Reach
Social media algorithms love consistency. The more you post regularly and keep your audience engaged, the more likely platforms are to prioritize your content. Sporadic posting can leave your engagement and visibility stagnant. It Eases Your Workflow
With a consistent plan, you don’t have to constantly reinvent the wheel. You’ll save time, reduce stress, and prevent the "What should I post today?" panic by planning ahead.
Tips to Plan for Consistency
1. Create a Content Calendar (Schedule a 1:1 with me to get mine as a special downloadable gift.)
Map out your content for the week or month (or even year, for realz) ahead. Include key topics, holidays, and any launches or events. Having a roadmap makes it easier to stay on track.
Even if you don't actually use all the plans you made, you'll have a great starting place. It's also easier to tweak something than create it.
2. Batch Create Content
Set aside time to create multiple pieces of content in one go. This could be recording several videos, writing captions, or designing graphics. When busy weeks hit, you'll already have content ready to post.
I would like to say this is a no-brainer, but you'll save time in a practical way because you don't have to re-set up everything. In a real way, once you're in the mindset to record a series of videos, it's MUCH easier to complete them.
3. Use Content Topics or Theme Days (I would say content pillars, but then I think of caterpillars, and then it's a whole spiral from there.)
Identify a few core themes or topics you regularly talk about—think of these as your signature flavors. Rotate between them to keep your content varied but still on-brand.
This can also be the schedule of types of content for the days of the week, like M-Awareness, T-Testimonial, W-FAQs, Th-Education, F-How to work with us. A consistent format leaves room for creativity and using Stories in your social media.
4. Automate and Schedule
Use social media scheduling tools to plan your posts ahead of time. This frees you up to engage with your audience and focus on other areas of your business.
If we haven't talked about my "Set It & Forget It" Social Media Posting Platform yet, then tell me how much time it takes for you to manually post your content!! My platform lets you connect all your biz socials and also allows you to recycle content. And you can add endless captions so it rotates to the next one when it recycles. So cool!
Yet another reason to schedule a 1:1 with me.
5. Leave Room for Flexibility
While planning is essential, leave some space for spontaneity. Jump on relevant trends or share real-time stories that reflect what’s happening in your life or business.
This is WAY EASIER when you already have a plan in place.
6. Measure and Adjust
Consistency isn’t just about quantity—it’s about creating content that resonates. Pay attention to your analytics. What’s performing well? What’s falling flat? Use that data to refine your strategy. YOu can even re-make content that hit the first time.
How to Stay Motivated
Let’s be honest—staying consistent isn’t always easy. Some days, creativity is nowhere to be found, and the urge to skip posting is strong. Here’s how to stay on track:
Remember Your Why: Why did you start creating content in the first place? Keep your goals in mind.
I almost hate this phrase now. However, you're a passionate person with a drive as strong as my Peet's specialty coffee. So, what action or behavior do you have that gets you in that space? For me, it's literally sitting down at the computer and opening Canva or my email (from the gurus I follow).Celebrate Small Wins: Every post, comment, and engagement is progress. Recognize the momentum you’re building.
But for Coffee's Sake! Don't obsess. Your results won't be in for 2 weeks. Instead celebrate completing the video, editing the video, and creating a clever caption to accompany it. Then share it into Stories so your followers have a better chance of seeing it!Seek Accountability: Share your content plan with a coach, friend, or business group to keep yourself accountable.
Accountability is super helpful. I have a group Tuesday nights at 8pm ET on Zoom. Be silent, ask me how-to questions, engage the others - whatever it takes for you to plow through your week's social media in an hour. I'll be there with you! Check my "Workshops 2025" tab on the website.
Final Sip: Consistency Wins the Game
You don’t have to be perfect—you just have to show up. Your audience isn’t expecting groundbreaking content every single day, but they do want to know you’re there, supporting and inspiring them.
So, grab your content calendar and plan for success. When you make consistency your secret ingredient, you’ll create the perfect blend of trust, engagement, and momentum that can carry your business through any season.
Try these hooks
