Stop Hinting; Start Selling!
We’re four sips into our content strategy journey:
Educate – Entertain – Engage – Sell – Delight
And now? It’s time to Sell.
☕ Sell: How to Brew Up Posts That Actually Convert
This is the step that gets side-eyed by the “I hate feeling salesy” crowd—but let’s get real: If you’re never actually asking for the sale, you’re just performing on social media for applause… not income.
☕ Here’s How to Write Posts That Sell
1. Lead With the Problem You Solve
Start your post with their problem—not your product. Why? Because people scroll fast, and they stop for something that feels familiar, frustrating, or finally... fixable. When you start with “Here’s what I’m selling,” you lose them. Start with “Tired of ___?” and they’ll lean in.
Example:
“Still posting five times a week and getting ghosted by the algorithm? Yeah, we’re not doing that anymore.”
Then—and only then—introduce what you’re offering as the solution.
Don’t start with your offer—start with their struggle.
“Tired of posting content no one sees?”
“Still guessing what to say on Instagram?”
2. Be Blunt About the Offer
Clarity converts. Period. Don't make them guess. Spell it out:
What it is (1:1 coaching, group program, product bundle)
Who it's for (beginners, busy moms, burnt-out biz owners)
What they’ll walk away with (the result, not just the features)
The faster they understand what you’re offering, the faster they can decide if it’s a yes or a no. Ambiguity kills sales.
Example:
“It’s a 90-minute strategy call where we untangle your content chaos, build a plan that feels doable, and you walk away with a custom calendar. For $197 flat. No fluff, just strategy.”
Name it. Explain it. Show it.
What’s included?
What’s the outcome?
Who’s it for (and who it’s not)?
3. Name Your Price
Yes. Publicly. Say it with your chest. Qualified buyers want to know the price upfront. Hiding it makes you look unsure or like you’re trying to trap them in a DM sales funnel. And let’s be honest—ain’t nobody got time for that.
Benefits of pricing publicly:
Filters out non-buyers
Positions you as confident and transparent
Reduces the “how much is this?” DMs that waste your time
Example:
“It’s $497. Yes, you’ll get a custom strategy, a 30-day content plan, and a whole lot of peace of mind.”
If they ghost because of the number, great—you just saved yourself a follow-up with a non-buyer. You want qualified clients walking into the checkout page, not sticker-shocked window shoppers.
4. Create Urgency Without Fake Scarcity
Skip the BS “only 3 spots left” if that’s not true. Real urgency is honest and clear—think deadlines, price changes, or limited time offers that actually mean something.
Use real urgency like:
“I’m only booking 3 clients this month—after that, it’s July.”
“The price increases next round, so this is the lowest it’ll ever be.”
Example:
“Doors close Friday at 5PM. I won’t offer this again until fall, and by then, the price is going up.”
No more “this might sell out” if you’re posting that every week.
Try this instead:
“Doors close Friday—after that, I’m fully booked.”
“This is the last round at this price.”
5. Use a Clear Call to Action
Don’t post your offer and peace out. End with a CTA that’s:
Direct
Easy to follow
Clear what happens next
People want to know what to do: click, DM, comment, or book. No mystery links or “reach out if you’re interested” vagueness.
Example:
“Click the link in my profile and book your call. You'll get a confirmation email within 5 minutes, and we’ll be chatting strategy by next week.”
Tell them what to do next. Literally.
Click this link
DM me “ready”
Book your consult
And keep it simple. Confused people don’t buy.
☕ Selling Doesn’t Mean Screaming
You’re not cold-pitching in the DMs or pressure-selling. You’re inviting someone into a solution you built to help them. Be confident. Be clear. Be direct.
And please—ditch the “DM me for pricing” nonsense. We’re grown. We’re selling. We’re not playing hide-and-seek with numbers.
☕ Ready to Sell? Start with These Post Ideas:
A client result that links back to your offer
A walkthrough of what’s included in your package
A behind-the-scenes peek at your service in action
A “you’re ready for this if…” post
A direct offer with price, details, deadline, and CTA
☕ Next Up? Delight.
We’ll talk about the Delight phase next—how to retain, re-engage, and keep customers coming back with less work on your end. But for now? Go write a post that sells—with zero shame and full confidence.
