Strong Brew, Stronger Brand: Why You Are the Reason People Say Yes
Your industry may be crowded, but your personality? That’s the secret ingredient no one else has.
Let’s talk about something that doesn’t get said enough in marketing: YOU are the thing people are buying into.
Not just your product. Not just your service.
You—your voice, your vibe, your presence, your energy.
There are a lot of people who do what you do. But no one does it the way you do. And that’s not just woo-woo fluff—that’s strategy.
Jenna Harding @jennaspaige (https://www.instagram.com/p/DH5u4AIxkA3/) said it best:
There are a LOT of contractors out there. But, she didn’t hire the contractor who only talked to her husband.
Because personality matters.
Because energy matters.
Because the connection matters.
Your Voice Is the Filter That Attracts the Right People
You don’t need to be the loudest voice in the room—you just need to be the most you.
People connect with what feels real. They want to know there’s a person on the other end of your content. A human being with quirks and favorite coffee mugs and opinions and a very specific way of talking that makes them think, “Oh. I like them.”
So when you show up on video with your natural voice, your regular way of speaking, your real expression—you’re creating connection. And connection converts.
Not Everything Has Been Said—Because It Hasn’t Been Said by You
It’s easy to fall into the trap of “Ugh, this has already been posted about a hundred times.”
And you know what? Maybe it has.
But it hasn’t been said your way.
With your tone.
With your humor.
With your stories.
With your face.
That’s why people stop the scroll. That’s why they listen. That’s why they buy.
So, How Do You Actually Show Up As You?
☕ Use your natural voice. You don’t need a “business voice” or a broadcast tone. Talk like you’re FaceTiming a friend. The more you suppress your personality, the more fake it is. And people scroll right past fake.
☕ Let your quirks live in your content. Say the weird thing. Laugh at yourself. Show up without makeup. I jave done this many times, and I assure you your content is more important than your lashes.
☕ Tell stories. Not just polished case studies—real stories from your real life. That’s what people remember. And you can become increasingly more vulbnerable over time, which truly builds long-lasting connection and loyalty.
☕ Don’t sanitize your language. If you say “y’all,” say it. If you say “heck yes” or “oh girl no,” leave that in. You’re not building a corporate PR page—you’re building trust. And if you're a little cussy? Cuss a little.
☕ Stop trying to impress. Start trying to connect. That’s where the magic happens. It's the trying to be impressive, or to accentuate any particular aspect of your personality, that people see right through. Think about it- YOU see through that mess when you're consuming content!
Final Sip: There’s No One Like You (and That’s the Point)
Your personality isn’t something to hide—it’s your greatest advantage.
You want content that connects?
Show up as yourself.
You want videos that get watched?
Speak like you do in real life.
You want clients who light you up?
Let them see the real you so the right ones can find you.
Because the truth is, people aren’t buying just what you sell.
They’re buying you.
So espresso yourself—and let the real you take the mic. 🎤☕✨
Here is a list of hooks you can use to help you frame what you have to say while being authentically YOU:
This is exactly how I’d say it if we were having coffee right now…
Here’s something I say to every client who works with me…
Not gonna lie, this might not be the ‘right’ way—but it’s my way.
I’m not here to sound perfect—I’m here to help.
Let’s keep it real for a second…
This is the kind of thing I used to be afraid to say out loud.
You won’t hear this from everyone in my industry—but I believe it matters.
This isn’t polished, but it’s honest—and it might help you today.
If we were on a walk right now, I’d tell you this story…
I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it again because it’s that important.
Here’s what I wish someone had told me when I started this journey…
Warning: I’m showing up 100% as myself today—and I hope you do too.
Here’s the truth behind the scenes of what I do…
I may not do it like everyone else, and I’m proud of that.
This one’s straight from the heart—no script, no fluff.
