Your Content Starts with a Brain Dump (and a Big Mug)! Part 1 of Brew It Yourself: DIY Social Media

January 12, 20265 min read

What do you do when now it's up to you to do your own Social Media?

Let’s be honest: lately a lot of business owners have had to make some tough decisions.

Budgets got tighter. Subscriptions got cut. That social media help that was saving your sanity? Yeah… gone.

Now you’re left with one of two choices:

You either designate someone in your biz to finally figure social media out…
or
You take it on yourself.

Cue the panic. Cue the blank screen. Cue the “wait — what do I post??”

Here’s the good news: if you’re motivated, you don’t need to be perfect — you just need a plan. And over the next 8–10 weeks, we’re going to map it out together in this blog series, step by step.

Think of it as your social media brew — from bean to cup. Brew It Yourself: DIY Social Media

What This Series Is Brewing

This week marks the beginning of a deep, intentional dive into the process of learning your own social media — not just posting aimlessly, not guessing what works, not hoping something lands.

We’re going to walk through the same progression that lives in my 8‑week flagship course, Caffeinate Your Socials — because that’s the path that actually teaches you how to do this with confidence.

You’ll get enough insight here to know what the process looks like and where to focus your energy.

Brewed Brainstorms: Using AI to Finally Figure Out What to Post

Let’s set the scene.

You’ve got your coffee. You’ve got your login to Instagram or Facebook or TikTok.

And then… you just sit there.

Blinking.

Staring.

Scrolling.

You want to show up, but what the heck do you say?

That’s where Week 1 of this blog series — and the Caffeinate Your Socials course — begins: not with fancy designs or flawless lighting, but with clarity.

Because posting shouldn’t feel like a performance.
It should feel like communication.

The Beginner’s Brainstorming Plan

Before we design, we dump.
And by dump, I mean we brain dump everything about your biz and you into one document.

It’s not pretty. But it’s magic.

Start here. This week.

👉 Open a blank doc and answer this one prompt:

If someone were sitting across from you with a coffee and asked, “What’s your business all about?” — what would you say?

Then keep going:

  • Why did you start this business?

  • What do you wish people knew?

  • What makes your clients say “OMG thank you!”

  • What’s a small win you’ve had lately?

And don’t forget

  1. Everything about your biz- copy from your website, brain dump

  2. Everything about how you got to your biz

  3. All the things you love about what you do and whom you serve

This is your digital espresso shot — the raw, unfiltered fuel that powers your content.

How AI (ai, not AL) Becomes Your Creative Assistant (Not Your Replacement)

Now that we’ve dumped the good stuff, we move to AI.

You don’t need to be tech-savvy. You just need to have trained it with your truth.

Once we teach your AI tool who you are and what your business does, you can start asking it to help with:

  • Hooks

  • Captions

  • Calls-to-action

  • Post topics

  • Video scripts

  • Text overlays for reels and B-roll

  • Email content

  • Launch ideas

And the best part? You still get to sound like you. Because we’ve trained it to reflect you — not some robot.

Last sips

For better posts with a consistent schedule, make the same type of post on that same day each week. I like to follow the buyer’s journey and may even follow a theme for the week.

So, if you’re ready to level up your production, schedule with me to chat and make a plan.
